At just 19 years old, Yvonne Marie Perino Alfanta is taking a bold step toward her dreams. A fresh graduate of Senior High School from PHINMA-Cagayan de Oro College, she grew up in Macanhan Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Coming from a family that values education, she was greatly influenced by her mother, a dedicated public school teacher, to pursue a career in early childhood education. Seeing the impact of quality education on young learners, she developed a deep passion for teaching and nurturing children at an early age.
With her strong determination and the unwavering financial support of her mother, Yvonne was able to turn her dream of studying abroad into reality. After months of preparation, she was granted her student visa on February 17, 2025, marking the official start of her journey to Australia. She is set to study at Cocoon International College, where she will be taking Certificate III and Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning). These programs will equip her with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the field of early childhood education, preparing her for a rewarding career in shaping young minds.
Beyond academics, Yvonne sees this journey as an opportunity for personal growth and independence. Moving to a new country comes with its own set of challenges, but she is ready to embrace the experience, immerse herself in a diverse learning environment, and build meaningful connections with people from different backgrounds.
As she takes this significant step toward her future, Yvonne is filled with gratitude, inspiration, and an unshakable determination to succeed. She is eager to make the most of this opportunity and prove that with hard work and perseverance, dreams can turn into reality.
